AYURVEDIC HEALING

In the subsections of this chapter we will deal with the particularities of treating different organs and human body systems.

ABOUT HEALING

A lot of patients, having a quick glance at the information about Ayurveda, get the idea that Panchakarma is a universal remedy, panacea, so they strive to undergo Panchakarma hoping that all their health problems will go away. But this notion is not quite correct.

First of all, there are some cases when Panchakarma as a profound body cleansing method is not recommended, because it can weaken the body and make the situation even worse. However, some other treatment program aimed at nourishing and caring about the damaged organs would be helpful.

Ayurvedic treatment methods are divided into reducing therapy (Langhana) and replenishing therapy (Brahmana).
Reducing therapy
Aimed at disintegration of the extra substances that are responsible for ailing condition and removing them from the body. It is prescribed in the cases of excessive weight, a lot of toxins in the body or excited Doshas. Panchakarma belongs to this group of therapeutic methods. These methods of treatment require the patient to have enough stamina and energy, because, alleviating ailing conditions, they weaken the body.
Replenishing methods
Nourish and regenerate body tissues when they are weakened or insufficient. These methods are prescribed in the cases of underweight, lack of energy, weakened or affected tissues. Replenishing therapy will restore energy and substance balance in the body.
The main Ayurvedic rule: reducing goes first, replenishing goes second. If replenishing therapy is started without preliminary cleansing, the effect will be that it will nourish the toxins in the body and increase excessive amount of Doshas thus worsening the patient's condition. That is why in most of the cases the treatment or health care program follows this simple logic: cleansing goes first, replenishing goes second. Though there are cases when the patient's body is initially too weak for any reducing therapeutic method, and in these cases the very treatment starts with replenishing therapy.

The leading specialist of our center will make a diagnosis and design a treatment program taking into account all the peculiarities of the constitution and health condition of the particular patient. Also Oxana will define the length and intensity of reducing (cleansing, panchakarma as such) and replenishing (restorative) part of the program. Usually even for patients with good overall health condition 1-2-3 days in the end of the program are given for replenishing and restorative treatment in order to make the long trip to the home country easier for them.
Second, another prerequisite for the successful Aurvedic treatment needs to be mentioned − that is, regularity. Undergoing Panchakarma, "spring cleaning" of the body once a year is useful for every healthy person. It will prevent accumulation of the toxins and provide a long and healthy life. If you haven't done the profound cleansing of your body for 30-40-50 years, it is not wise to hope that 1-2-3-4 week treatment will succeed in removing all the amount of the toxins accumulated during several decades. So it is highly advised to undergo Panchakarma refresher courses regularly..

However, in any case, even after one course of Panchakarma treatment the patient will find his condition greatly improved, energy restored and body rejuvenated, as if he or she became several years younger. The most important is not to lose these effects after the program. That is why during the treatment course we teach the patient how to maintain and even improve the achieved health condition at home. If the patient follows our recommendations, his or her health condition gradually improves or, at least, does not decline.
We wish your Aurvedic treatment course to give you the incredible feelings of youth, flexibility, body lightness, equilibrium, peace of mind and heart, eternity and happiness – so that you will always live in the light these effects!
