We should know all the details about your health condition in advance. Please give us a list of your diseases and complaints, indicate how long they have been bothering you, describe the symptoms. We should be aware of this so that we could order special rare Ayurvedic medicines if it is necessary.

It is better to bring with your general blood and urine test results as well as other results of tests and medical examinations that are directly connected to your diseases, especially if they show any imbalance. Though if last tests showed no imbalance, bringing the results here is not necessary.

You must take with you medicines that you are using constantly or from time to time, the ones that have proven to be tried-and-true for you. It is especially important to bring medicines for emergency cases. For example, asthmatics should bring with them tried medicines in case of bronchial asthma attack, and people who suffer from heart diseases should bring tried medicines in case of stenocardia or hypertonia attack etc

Taking warm clothes (woolen socks and caps, sweaters, thermal underwear, warm sportswear or trekking suits, windbreakers or jackets etc.) is a must. One of the important rules of Panchakarma is to keep the body warm. If your body feels cold, toxins get denser, channels get narrower, and the whole process of detoxification stops. Taking with you warm clothes is of prime importance for those patients who come to us in April-May and September-October. You will surely need all the above mentioned warm clothes in these months, especially in the evening, at night and in the morning.

But even if you are going to come in summer (June, July, August), you should also take warm clothes with you. Maybe you won't need these clothes, but take it just in case. Mountain weather tends to change very rapidly. During the daytime under the sun it can be warm as in summer, but already after a few hours, especially if rain comes, it gets really cold. And the next day, if it is sunny, you can wear your summer dress again. Though if it has been raining for several days, even in June temperature can drop as low as in April – to +8 degrees Centigrade.

However, you should also take with you light summer clothing. The average summer temperature for fair weather here is +25-28 degrees Centigrade

You will need a hair dryer.
You will need it in any season, but in the colder months it will be especially useful.
  • 7
For undergoing the procedures you should bring with you some clothes that can become dirty because of oil and herbs treatment. Also take with you panties or undershorts you will wear during the procedures and throw away after that – they will be of no good anyway.

A thermos bottle can be really convenient for you to enjoy mountain hiking taking with you warm tea for Panchakarma.
  • 9
A raincoat will also be essential for mountain hiking in rainy weather. An umbrella will not be convenient for this matter.
  • 10
It is strange, but there are almost no mosquitoes here! Though flies can be a nuisance in sunny summer days. So if you do not like flies, please take with you a repellent.

In the evenings it gets dark rather soon. Depends of the month, it is already dark at 6.30-8.00 pm. If you would like to go for a walk in the evenings (and it is quite beneficial to have a short evening walk during panchakarma), you should bring a torch, as there are no street lights in our Himalayan village. The most convenient is a trekking torch which is fixed on the forehead with a wide rubber string.

If you wear contact lenses it is important to know that it is not recommended to use them during panchakarma, because toxins will also flow out through eyes and contact lenses will prevent outflow of toxins. That is why you should take spectacles instead of contact lenses.
